Harnessing Technology
The Government recognises that digital technology continues to change many aspects of our lives. However, although our capacity to change has grown, implementation and quality have been more haphazard. Harnessing Technology: Transforming Learning and Children's Services is the first step in developing a strategic approach to using digital technology to improve teaching, learning, support and outcomes.
So how does this impact on E2E Passport Online?
Priority 2, "integrated online personal support for learners", supports use of E2E Passport Online most closely. This calls for:
Priority 2 also specifically mentions "better access" to digital technology for post-16 learners particularly those who are "socially excluded".
Significantly this is only part of a much broader drive to embed e-learning in the workplace and in work-based learning - see Priority 3. The document also covers training, leadership, infrastructure, collaborative learning activities and integrated online information services.
