Entry to Employment

Entry to Employment (E2E) replaced Life Skills, Preparatory Training and NVQ Learning at Level 1 in England on 1 August 2003. The programme aims to help 16-18 year-olds who are not yet ready to start Apprenticeships, further education or employment make progress with their lives.

E2E LogoAs well as targeting progression, E2E also aims to help young people:
  • become more motivated and confident
  • develop personal effectiveness and key skills
  • build vocational knowledge, skills and understanding through a range of work and learning experiences

As individual learners are likely to need more or less support, an E2E programme is not time-bound and is designed to meet their specific needs. It follows that a period of initial assessment will be needed to identify those needs and that this should be followed by the development of an action plan and a process of target setting and review to ensure needs are being met.
