Adviser Referral

One of the most critical functions of the online Passport is the ability to be able to transfer a learner’s Passport to another organiation or individual. This transfer learner (Adviser Assignment) function is merged with a Referral form (2) based on those produced by the LSC for the E2E Learners Passport .
Completed referrals are stored in a learner’s Passport and can be viewed from the Referral Summary. (1)

Adviser Referral ScreenshotWhy Use It?
The Referral form itself summarises details like the name of the referring organisation, reasons for referral, qualifications and achievements and on-going support needs. As such it provides an accurate record of transition and provides a new organisation with an effective summary of learner’s needs.

Key Features
  • Referral is the only form that is not open to the Learner.
  • This is not because referral details should be kept from the learner, but more because it is seen as communication between Passport Advisers about a learner.
  • The Adviser Assignment section (3) allows the date of transfer to be registered and a new Passport Adviser chosen.
  • The transferring adviser can remain as a Secondary Adviser if appropriate.
  • Currently any registered Passport Adviser can be chosen from a drop-down list. In future, only organisations will be listed allowing any Passport Adviser in a chosen organisation to work with the learner on their Passport.

Agreement
It is important that the learner agrees to share their passport with new advisers and organisations. The Agreement section on most forms will be used in the future to determine which parts of a learner’s Passport can be transferred and which need to be deleted on referral.
