New Activity Plan 28-11-2005

We are currently exploring formats for a new Activity Plan as part of the Notts Pilot. We hope to incorporate previous suggestions for learner-only login working and better handling of dates and days as part of this process. Any comments welcomed but must be with us before the end of the month.

Server Move Just a Week Away 22-11-2005

Just a reminder that the Passport server will be moved on 29th November from the Park Royal Data Centre to a new location. The new location should make Passport data more secure and the system itself better protected from for example power failure. Disruption is expected to be mimimal and limited to overnight periods. Although we don't expect any problems, we would advise all users to just be that extra bit careful around 29th November and SAVE / SAVE DRAFT on a regular basis.

RSS Updates 22-11-2005

We are working now to create an RSS (Really Simple Syndication) news feed from the Updates section of the site. This will enable modern browsers (Firefox, Opera and Safari v2) or News Reader programs to access links to the latest updates. If you want more information about RSS go to the BBC website. We will publish the link to the RSS feed as an update on this website.

Notts Data Transfer 18-11-2005

We're please to report that all transfer protocols and scripts needed to transfer personal information and APIR data from Connexions Notts Insight (Cognisoft) system to Passport are now in place. Quick reminder to PAs that they must enter the Insight reference number for each learner when they set up a Passport: this can be entered retrospectively. Contact the HelpLine if you need more information.

Notts Referral 17-11-2005

Thanks to colleagues in Notts for alerting us to the unavailability of the Referral form via an Adviser login. The fault was local to Notts so users in other parts of the country weren't affected. From notification through to implemented solution only took a matter of hours. Please pass on error reports as quickly as you can.
