Induction
Purpose and Audience
The purpose of this session for E2E Practitioners is to introduce online E2E Passport concepts and then follow this with practical activities designed to illustrate the program’s main functions and features. By the end of the 2.5 hour session, delegates will understand what makes Passport different and have the knowledge and skills to begin using it in their work with young people.
Capacity
With only one trainer, numbers need to be capped at 15 but 10-12 is a more comfortable number to ensure each participant is given the time and attention they need.
Programme Outline
The session starts by asking colleagues to consider characteristics of E2E learners and the kind of support they need before introducing the concepts of Passport Online and how it seeks to add value to the process of identifying needs, planning a programme and reviewing progress. Beyond this point, the session mixes practical hands-on with interactive demos.
The first part of the practical session begins with a learner-only login to get an overview of tools available and how to navigate through them. Practical work continues with setting up a proxy learner using the adviser-only side of the program, and then using this learner to explore selected Passport tools via a learner / adviser dual login in the second practical part of the session. Issues arising are dealt with as they occur.
All practical work is supported by the Training Task Sheets and other resources available from the Passport Support website. There are a number of alternative (differentiated) tasks for more experienced users as required.
The session concludes with demonstrations and experimentation of the different types of tool available and moving learners between advisers / organisations. There will be an opportunity to use the Notes tool to investigate how it can support remote Reviews. Finally if time allows there will be demonstrations of Passport Offline, Manager and support systems.
